Recipes for the month (March 07)

Barbara hosted our first Cooks, Hooks and Lotsa Looks gathering with two delicious Indonesian recipes.

Saté manis

500 gr pork
2 pieces of garlic
6 tablespoons ketjap manis
1 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoons brown sugar
½ teaspoon sambal manis
Juice of ½ a lemon
Puree the garlic and mix it with the salt.
Cut the meat in squares of about 1 inch.
(Rub the meat with the garlic-salt pulp, let it soak for ½ hour.)
Mix the ketjap, sugars, sambal and lemon juice in a pan until it is a sauce.
(Let the meat soak in this sauce for 3 hours)
Pull the meat out of the sauce, dab it dry and thread it on a skewer..
Set aside remaining sauce.
Roast the sate on the bbq and smear the rest of the sauce on it from time to time.

Clean the cabbage and chop it fine.
Clean the beans and break them.
